What's with the body overflow property?

Just curious - what's the reasoning for setting overflow-x and overflow-y to hidden on the body element in components.styl?
The components being creating there were specifically for mobile touch apps where controlling the scroll of the view port has to be more granular. Basically it makes it easy to create scrollable list views while avoiding the screen bounce problem on iOS.
