Seems stuff no longer is available at Samsung's servers, but the link to the XDA forum is still relevant, as it got me the firmware file.
Your instruction for the updater.sh was also to the point and consistent with bankwing.
However, updater.sh would not run.
After some looking around and reading all sorts, I found this:

So I copied those files to the SD-card, connected to the camera with wifi, telnetted into it and started the updater.sh from there.
The updater.sh method alone seems to be not working for some, bankwing created a better method here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/mod-port-samsung-gear-360-manager-for-all-devices-updated-21-jan-21-v1-4-00-4-fw.3400383/page-95#post-84603699 if you need to do it again, I need to get round to updating the repo with this info.
Also seems you are correct that the open source files and firmware XMLs have been scrubbed from the servers now too. Good job the archives were got while we could then!
