Installing large mods can cause the UI to appear to hang for a while

I've noticed this with Bluedog_DB and Parallax - the UI seems frozen on "installing ...." though the cancel button is available. I've seen many people go through a cycle of cancel and retry at this stage, but it would probably eventually complete if they just waited.

I think the main problem here is that the progress bar seems to be relative to the number of mods processed, and doesn't update for progress while unzipping and installing a single mod. Maybe it's not even possible to measure the progress for that.
