knit the Rmd to get the nice README.md for github

The Rmd is currently displayed as raw text, would be nice to knit it (with output: github_document) and commit the resulting README.md
Hey, thank you for pointing this out. I truthfully didn't know this was an output type. If you would like to make a PR with that I would greatly appreciate it.
