Additional configuration to ignore games from different accounts

vakarian92 opened this issue · comments

Hi, it seems that the Steam option "Ignore installed games from other accounts" doesn't work on my computer. My partner and I use the same computer: we have two Windows accounts linked to two different Steam accounts with two Playnite instances. We have the option "Private Account" selected with our own API key and "Ignore installed games from other accounts" but still Playnite imports games from the other account. I noticed that by removing "Import installed games", it doesn't happen anymore but unfortunately Playnite doesn't have a clue about what games are installed. Not sure if important but we use the shared library functionality because from time to time we try games before buying them but I think from the Steam API Playnite should be able to identify the owned games. Please let me know what info I can provide because I'm not really sure. I have generated the diagnostic ID.

You have to actually set those additional accounts that should be used to detect installed games from extra accounts unde "Additional accounts" tab.

We can't automatically ignore installed games that are not found on your linked account because there are some cases where Steam API we use won't report games as part of your library, which could lead to incorrectly ignoring games. Therefore you need to set what extra account should be used to detect games that are not from your main account.

Hi, I'm sorry but I have the opposite problem, the games from the other account are imported regardless of the "Ignore installed games from other accounts". I do not want them in my account, I only want my games in my account. I don't see an option "exclude games from this account" in the "additional accounts" tab you suggested. Thank you.

I see, configuration you describe is currently not supported.

The one workaround would be letting those games to import and then remove then and add them to the ignore list.
