Browsersync not working in Sass/Gulp build

Followed the instructions to the letter, but cannot get browsersync to kick in at all. Sass complies fine and everything else seems okay, but currently relying on manually refreshing browser. Any ideaS? thanks.
Using gulp browsersync, as opposed to gulp watch does the trick :)
