This is already a bit overdue.
We may be able to get it deployed very quickly, as early as in the pm. tomorrow. But I have decided to spawn a dedicated issue for it, rather than handling it as part of #269 - only because there is an extra bit of building and re-testing of the custom patch instead of the stock 6.2, to (definitely) include the latest Globus fixes, and (possibly) the optimization fixes from Guillermo's IQSS/dataverse#10383.
Prod. patch is built. Figuring out when to deploy it.
This has been done. So far, so good.
Among other things, we now have a wonderweapon against excessive bot crawling - the throttling/rate-limiting functionality added in 6.2. It is a nuclear option that would affect all guest users indiscriminately, but it is objectively a significant improvement to have it available.
