In 90% of cases, adding a badge fails.

Hi!
Recently I noticed that adding a badge is failing in 90% of times.
This is the log that I am receiving:
[19:24:32]: Start adding badges...
[19:24:33]: Error validating image from shields.io. Use --verbose for more info
[19:24:33]: Waiting for 10s and retry to load image from shields.io tries remaining: 10
What could be the reason for this? Did shield.io change something in their API?
