Should we try to support prmon on OS X?

At the moment prmon only works on linux systems as it relies heavily on /proc
(and a bit on /sys
as well, in netmon).
While there is no production use of OS X in the experiments, it's such a nice standalone utility that it could be an idea to see how to implement similar functionlity on OS X. Obviously this is quite a lot of work as it requires complete rethinking of how to obtain process statistics.
Could this be a nice GSoC project. It needs someone that has a Mac, unless we can arrange access to one at CERN (I do know how to setup VNC on a Mac, but obviously one needs to go via lxtunnel
with some credentials).
Yeah, we never progressed on this, nor did anyone ask for it, so I think it's dropped for now.
