Merge `examples` and `tests` directories

Unless you think there's a good reason to keep them separate.
Since the current examples (legacy from atlite) are pretty sparse, we could move those into a subfolder (?) examples/in_progress/?
These have been merged into examples/in_progress in the latest commit.
