Token on IOS but no notifications

I am able to get a token on IOS, but when i try to send a notification to the device/topic nothing ever comes. Works fine in android. I would assume if it gets the token, everything is working like it should, but no event ever gets fired, firebase sends a good response, so i know the token is good.. any ideas?
