Virtio-win-driver-installer setup ended prematurely

I'm running Ubuntu 16.04, and have installed Windows 10 on the virtual machine. When going to install the drivers, I'm getting an error saying that the installer ended prematurely due to an error, and no changes have been made.
The ISO I used was an old version, so I did a full Windows update, with no luck.
I have the same issue, but you can install it manually via device manager
right-click on device name > update driver > Browse my computer for driver software > Browse your already mounted virtio-win (D: E: etc) > next
Hello, open cmd (run as admin) and type "bcdedit /set testsigning on", restart your vm and install again. Make sure when the windows warns you if you want to install the driver just agree on it.
