STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: Both Army and Marine Corps doctrine describe a BHL, which is defined explicitly in ADRP 1-02 as “A dedicated phase line on the ground where responsibility transitions from the stationary force to the moving force and vice versa. Also called BHL. (ADRP 3-90).” Currently, handover lines are not depicted in the MIL-STD-2525D, though they are in use operationally. A BHL is a specific type of handover line requiring its own amplification.
PROPOSED SOLUTION: Propose the addition of line control measure symbol BHL as a T1 text amplifier and include T2 text amplifier within the Maneuver Control Measure Symbols Table of MIL-STD 2525D. Draw rules are the same as holding line and release line.
