Auto-log file creation fails

In the last two rounds of updates the log file writing seems to fail if the log does not currently exist. I often delete the log files after they get to be fairly long, but now the first run creates a blank log file and returns the following error:
"docker: Error response from daemon: open \.\pipe\docker_engine_linux: The system cannot find the file specified."
But the empty log is placed and running the command again fixes the issue. Note that this is only recently a problem.
This is being run on windows docker as well.
Further testing shows this is only the case for bestbuy, most likely because of the specific puppeteer check for writing.
