LcfTrans: Feature requests

RPG Maker 2000:

  • Engine specific output (few terms are now unused because of placeholders)

RPG Maker 2003:

  • Engine specific output (many DB Terms are gone)
  • Untranslatable terms ("Status", "Miss" - Any more?)

Event commands:

  • Change Hero Name
  • Maniac Patch String Picture Event Command
  • DynText Plugin Strings

Any more?

Both 2000/2003:

  • Translatable RPG_RT.ini GameTitle (if any, ortherwise translate the default "Untitled"... or maybe fallback to lmt root name, which is ignored by RPG_RT.exe?).

    • Apart of application title (maybe translating the "FPS" part), update WM_* text in application name, which is different of application window, for translatable titles
  • In case of further customized executable stuff gets implemented some day (needs PE parsing):

    • Translatable LOGO1(also LOGO2 and LOGO3 on older exes), some customized ones contain in-game instructions.
    • EXFONT resources (rare but possible)
    • Possibly stupid, but if icon parsing/extraction gets in: translatable in-game window frame icon / window manager app icon, if ever supported before making it translatable, allow custom icons if they contain some text or out-of-context info.
  • Custom Font override, if this gets implemented in harfbuzz branch some day (this may be required for legal reasons to not touch existing files if the game installs/uses some fonts and misses accents and such).

LcfTrans generator specific:

  • An option for customizable end of line (Windows or UNIX). Currently uses system default.

Added "Change Hero Name", this must be also translatable

Hi, O great people...

I would like to fix spelling mistakes into the original text datas before translation and I wonder if it could be possible to make lcftrans recompile back the lmu files with the edited po files.

I tried other tools like RPGRewriter or DreaMaker that are supposing to do that kind of job but they doesn't seem to work with the last version of RM2K3.
