Metal Archives on iOS
Metal Archives (a.k.a. Encyclopaedia Metallum) is the biggest encyclopedia of all metal bands around the world. From most well-known worldwide bands like Metallica to underground local bands in countries that you may never have heard of.

Available on App Store since January 2016, this application is an unofficial iOS version of the site. It is created in need of an adapted interface on mobile devices for quick researches.

The application provides almost everything you can do on the site for research purposes. If you want to contribute to the site's contents, like wikipedia, you will have to register an account, make changes and wait for moderator approvals. In this case you have to use the web interface. iOS interface doesn't mean to be a complete alternative.

- Homepage which shows: statistics, news, latest additions/updates/reviews, upcoming albums.
- Browse bands: alphabetically, by country, by genre.
- Browse labels: alphabetically, by country.
- List of deceased artists.
- Random band
- Statistic details: top 100 bands/albums.
- News archives.
- Simple search by: band name, music genre, lyrical themes, album title, song title, label name, artist name.
- Advanced search: band, albums, songs.
- Band details: basic informations, photo, logo, bio, discography, members list, reviews, similar artists, related links.
- Release details: basic informations, cover photo, additional notes, track list, lyrics, lineup, reviews.
- Artist details: basic informations, photo, bio, trivia, roles in bands, related links.
- Label details: basic informations, logo, bio, related labels, current/past roster, releases, related links.
Extra features:
- Shortcut (3D touch) for quick actions: open search page, open with a random band.
- Today Widget which display updates from the homepage: band latest additions, band latest updates, latest reviews, upcoming albums.
- Customizable interface: -- 4 built-in themes: default, light, vintage, unicorn. -- 3 font size options: default, medium, large. -- Enable/disable thumbnails. -- Today widget sections.
