Commit d5ff8d4 works for me. The latest one though wedges because nbSymbols has become -1. This is the "fse foo -o bar" syntax. I think it's related to using the 286 symbol alphabet.
Yes, you are right, there was a bug left after the move to 286 symbol alphabet.
The problem has been solved just on latest release.
If you update master branch to latest version, "fse foo -o bar" should work properly.
