Is this project abandoned?

Since more than 1.5 years there is no development (neither in integration of pull requests nor by fixing open Bugs; currently 76). Is this project still maintained or abandoned by LG?

Considering lg broke compatibility with this sdk on some of their webos tvs then I'm guessing it is abandoned.

That could be the reason.

It seems that LG's SmartTV OS changes with every model/ year and the maintainance is more than poor. I started with a classical LG (before they introduced that "funny" WebOS).

Each update reduced the functionality or broke a key feature (and I don't talk about their creepy program sort). This SDK was a good idea... but last only one year/ series...

So, what's the proper way now to communicate with webOS apps from mobile devices?

Any new solutions

It seems like this project is abandoned, or, at better, LG is not putting the same resources into this.
It was a great idea, but , like other sdk´s , it seems that the "library that works with every device" is just gonna be a dream.
An alternative would be Allconect sdk (by tuxera), since they don´t give any information about princing, i don´t know if it would be viable.

You could also use Cling , and do some upnp server to cast, or use one library of DLNA . The android app BubbleUPnP uses cling, and that can cast audio and video even to my really old tv via DLNA.

But, i don´t know any way to communicate with webos 4.0 apps the documentation is just, missing. and there is no official sdk for android. So... great job LG, great way to monopolize your tv market.

Not only is it abandoned but LG keeps breaking the WebOS WebApp for playing videos. A few weeks ago subtitles stopped working, no word from them.
