Render in place for clips that have third party effects on them, Both for video and audio. What it should do: export the clip with the effect applied and attach them at the same place in the timeline. It would be great if one could choose a different Role.
“Render in Place” I think would have to be a CommandPost thing. Not really sure how you’d do it nicely. MAYBE you could add an adjustment layer over shots you want to “bake in” and we could make a custom share destination - but that would require rendering the whole timeline. MAYBE that's not the worst thing in the world, because you could always just copy to a temporary smaller timeline.
You could do something similar to the Timeline Batch Export - but it's so unreliable. 99% of our CommandPost feedback is because with errors that Timeline Batch Export did something they didn't want.
