Wow, Virginia again! Welcome to ClojureBridge!

Have you two connected to the previous ClojureBridge DMV organizer @quoll ? The last workshop in the area happened about a month ago, #58 . If not, I do recommend doing so. I'm sure you can hear many from her. It will definitely help organizing your chapter.

I will find a mentor before creating the website. Please wait a bit.

@yokolet , Thank you so much! I am aware of the workshop held last month and will surely connect with @quoll.
Quick Question- Associates working in my team and myself are planning to teach during the workshop, not sure if that is what you meant by mentoring? But we would love to have all your help..

@bansd I mean mentoring by some of board or ex-board member for organizing the workshop. The mentor will help you to make the workshop awesome in terms of organizing.

If you need more teachers, you should definitely connect @quoll . She should have some names and contacts.

I just wonder you pinged @bobby (Bobby Calderwood). He is a Cojure dev, my old co-worker and works for Capital One now.

@yokolet Awesome. Thanks!! Let me know if you need anything else.

@yokolet since our workshop date is nearing(starts 16th June), how soon can we publish this on website?

@bansd Sorry for the delay. Chris, Minneapolis chapter organizer and boar member, will be your mentor. I'll connect you two and Chris by email.

I created the website, http://www.clojurebridge.org/events/2017-06-16-washington-dc . Please check.

A couple of things:

  • This workshop says "women only". Do you have any checkbox "I'm identified as a woman" in the subscriber form? If not, you should add. Guessing from names won't work nicely.
  • Please add gravatar image of the email. So far, @bansd looks a primary organizer since you write here primary. I want @bansd gravatar image tied to the email.
  • Please go over documents of https://github.com/ClojureBridge/organizing . If you've already done, that's fantastic.

If there's any about the website, please write here and ping me.

Hi @yokolet , thanks so much for putting up the website. Looks awesome!!

Also, we are asking the gender as a required field from our registration forms.

@bansd perfect!

Bansari, Bhavani, and I met today. They've put a lot of thought into their bridge.

@crkoehnen @bansd So, the workshop will be canceled at this time and restart at some point, right?
Should I delete the event from the website?

@crkoehnen Aha, got it. I reopened the issue.
The issue will be closed once the workshop finishes.

Sounds nice!

Is everything on track for this workshop, @bansd? Don't hesitate to comment here if you have any last-minute questions or concerns.

It sounds like the event went well. The team wants to reduce the number of no-shows and are considering having separate events for different levels. I'm looking forward to seeing their slides.
