Working with Posit (new Rstudio name) support [Ticket #90570]

They ask for a number of files and more context data to help their analysis:

  • Error messages
  • Linux distribution and version: uname -a
  • Host environment description: hardware, local VM, Docker, hosted VM (e.g., AWS EC2 instance)
  • Version of Posit Connect (run this command: /opt/rstudio-connect/bin/connect --version)
  • System log file on Connect server (/var/log/messages or /var/log/syslog)
  • Posit Connect configuration file: /etc/rstudio-connect/rstudio-connect.gcfg
  • Is the database type in use SQLite (default) or Postgres?
  • your application logs from the Posit Connect App dashboard (Show Logs)
  • the specific output from the relevant job in the jobs directory in the Connect data directory (by default this is /var/lib/rstudio-connect, or whatever's set as DataDir in the configuration file)

They also ask for a HAR file of the network activity generated when the problem occurs - instructions for that:

Some of this we were able to find but not all (there are not really 'error' messages or any real traceable issues, it is ususally just down or glitchy and then back up and running again a desperate day or perhaps hours later).
