I am getting an error I've never seen before when trying to compile on Python 3.9.16. I am following the README installation instructions and get the following output on the last step. @jacksonllee any ideas?

  Installing build dependencies ... done
Checking if build backend supports build_editable ... done
Getting requirements to build editable ... error
  error: subprocess-exited-with-error
