Separating Creator field into author and affiliation

We are soliciting a number of guest contributions from local heritage institutions and universities. Rather than the existing Creator field, it would be helpful to store their name and affiliation in separate fields to open up the future option of displaying all stories contributed by authors from the University of Baltimore or the Maryland Historical Society, etc. One related issue is that there is no way to add multiple authors in separate fields for collaborative stories.

This is actually a couple different issues. We will support multiple author fields in the next theme release, formatting the output as (if I recall precisely)...

  • First Author
  • First Author & Second Author
  • First Author, Second Author & Third Author
  • First Author, Second Author, et al.

This will mirror Omeka 2.0's more robust implementation of the Chicago style guide in item citations.
