THEME: Font issues

Need to follow up on font issues. Right now, we use News Gothic via Typekit. Some confusion over when that works and doesn't and whose account settings to use. Additionally, the header call that uses the theme settings to get the user ID is improperly setup.
What about switching over to Google Web Fonts? I looked at Typekit when we first set up Explore Baltimore Heritage but did not want to commit to a paid account. I really like how Open Sans looks on the new WordPress Twenty Twelve theme.
