Drop Mac OS support OR run 10.14 in a VM

I'm not willing to buy a new Apple PC and I want C++17. I can install Windows 10 on my old laptop but of course I can't install the newest Mac OS. If someone else wants to take over maintenance for this, please feel free.

Let's see if I can run 10.14 in a VM (with screen capture and everything working) before giving up on it...
