For anyone having trouble with the code in this repo, you can use the 7-zip utility to extract the firmware.

It handles both the .zip/.bin files (with the "DH" signature instead of "PK") as well as the squashfs files.

Under Linux you can run 7z l filename to see if 7-zip supports the file, and if so, 7z x filename will extract it into the current directory.
