Failure to print duplex

KenWA353 opened this issue · comments

I am using Boomaga 3.0 under Linux Mint 20.1 and printing to a networked HP LaserJet Pro M118. The printer prints duplex as it did under 19.3 but when using Boomaga to print through the LaseJet it prints single pages in both full page and booklet format. I have set it up exactly as described in 3. Printing from within Boomaga using an automatic duplex printer. Is there anything I can do toregain the use of Boomaga - I dearly miss printing booklets.

Using Boomaga 1.3.0 on
Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 10 (Q4OS fork)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.5
Qt Version: 5.11.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.54.0
Kernel Version: 4.19.0-14-amd64
OS Type: 64-bit

with networked printer HP Pro MFP M225dw (duplexer installed):
Configured in CUPS 2.2.10 as:
HP_LaserJet_Pro_MFP_M225dw
LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw - IPP Everywhere (grayscale, 2-sided printing)
ipp://NPI0E8B40.local:631/ipp/print
job-sheets=none, none media=iso_a4_210x297mm sides=one-sided

  1. Printing Word document with LibreOffice Writer 4 pages as double sided A4 : is okay.
  2. Printing PDF format of same document A4 with Boomaga as Booklet (double sided is standard activated), printer option Duplexer installed, print on short edge : is printing two pages not double sided, sequence of pages is according the booklet format.
  3. Same with Duplexer on long edge: same result.
  4. Printing PDF format of same document A4 with Boomaga as 2-up double sided : is printing two pages not double sided, sequence of pages is as expected with 2-up.
  5. Changed HP Pro MF225 to print default double sided, short edge : Boomaga application prints two pages single sided.
  6. Changed default settings of Boomaga printer driver to standard double sided short edge. Printed again with the Boomaga application : prints two pages single sided.

It seems that the printer instruction to use the duplexer is not passed on, or better: the application passes on that print jobs should be single sided.
Is there a way to see the printer instruction sent by Boomaga, to send it to you? A log file, an error file?
