Iterating presentations

Got fair pushback on the line: "We don’t like the idea of founders spending lots of time making presentations." Was talking to an advisor to an entrepreneur who pointed out that different versions of presentations show that the entrepreneur is thinking and changing their ideas as they go along--which to me is critical. What I don't like is the idea of founders wasting their time making presentations unnecessarily pretty or overdesigned (at this stage). I do like the idea of the presentation as a living doc that they are using to refine their thoughts and approach.
Here's what the advisor wrote:
In Bloomberg's "Internal Operating Manual" they say how they're always disappointed to see

I think it's an excellent point but IMHO it needs a bit of nuance. You don't want to be on version23 of an outward facing business plan presentation -endlessly trying to repackage the same story. However, I would say that you want to be on version1000 of your own internal presentation of how to crisply articulate your customer, his/her pain point, your solution, its value, and how you plan to monetize it.
Great point. I'll add the word "fundraising" before "presentations."
