Which git repo to use for the MAX31856?

Well due to a little accident with a leaking shop roof roll eyes I bought a MAX31856 to replace the MAX31855.

However, the repo listed in the install instructions is not available. There seems to be this one

and this one

https://github.com/johnrbnsn/Adafruit_Python_MAX31856

I'm thinking adafruit is pushing their own circuitPython? I've tried using the johnrbnsn repo but I'm getting errors.

EDIT: I did get it running (haven't hooked up relays yet) with the johnrbnsn repo. The errors were me not the code.
