Cannot create Thaumium in Crucible [Crucible Input Bug]

I will preface this by saying I'm using an Essentia Smeltery + Arcane Alembic so I only input the perfect amount of essentia required to make Thaumium Ingots. But as soon as I try to put in the iron ingot to act as a catalyst, it instead just breaks down into metal essentia. I cannot progress due to this bug.
