Russian translation (dictionary)

xufana opened this issue · comments

I would question some translations in the dictionary for Russian: I've graduated this year and we haven't really translated everything. For example, it will be more understandable if I say "one-hot" in Russian as it is, rather than "унитарный код". Basically, I've never heard anyone calling it "унитарный код", to be honest...

So I guess there is a choice between being academically strict or being understood.

Are you one of our interpreters or someone reading the material?

Yes, I'm translating subtitles right now (2nd lecture).

I've found a bit more such words since then, "batch" is rarely really called "пакет" as it is stated, it's just batch in Russian as it is.
So there are terms that are academically correct but rarely used, and terms that are a bit more informal but used more often.

Sorry, accidentally closed the issue :(

I understand.
We use the Wiki and Slack to coordinate the translation.
We have emails as well, in case someone needs pinging.
Also, @vladisai may be able to help, for what regards choice of names.
