Have you tried a recent build? I used to get this segfault too. It would only run 1/10 times. However, I just tried the most recent build (https://release.asteroidos.org/nightlies/qemux86/) and it seems to work fine now.

I only had one issue. The mouse would jump all over the place when trying to move it. Turns out that this is easily fixed by appending -device usb-mouse -machine usb=on to the command line.

Tested on Arch Linux with the integrated Intel GPU.
