Dropping 2.7?

Due to a number of recent issues and the upcoming deprecation of python 2.7, among many other benefits I will not for the moment enumerate here, I think I want to drop support of python 2 in future releases of spiceypy.
However, in checking the downloads of spiceypy from pip, 1663 pip installs of spiceypy 2.3.1 were made by python 2 users, more than all users who install with python 3.X combined.
If any spiceypy users still use python 2, why? please reply here!
well, I am going to drop 2.7. a month or two ago when suggested I was hesitant at first, but then I realized I thought it was 2018... it's a new year and 2.7 users have been on borrowed time for a while now. It's time to allow spiceypy to take advantage of python 3 features.
