Should Canu be updated?

This uses canu/1.8. Should we use a more recent version, like canu 2.1? If so, fasta header parsing will have to be updated. Canu/2.1 includes a trim suggestion that was similar in length (at least) to the resulting MT_Contig
Update: The identified tig built with canu/2.1 was nearly identical (see dotplot), but built from many fewer reads. Is this a problem?
Updated scripts to run canu/2.1. Should I try to make it possible to run canu/1.8 also?
