Y-axis scaling issue

I am using the vertical bar chart to display data. Most of the time the y-axis min and max values adjust properly. However, for certain datasets, the max value for y is too small and it results the in the actual bars shooting off the top. I haven't been able to figure out any reason for why this is happening.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is there are way to manually set the y-axis scale?
Apologies, I'd been having this issue for a several days and only just clicked on that my data was in string format and not parsed as an int. Just surprising that the chart handled it most of the time.
