Can not use esplorer with nodeMCU dev-esp32 firmware

I have flashed the nodeMCU dev-esp32 firmware and when I try to connect it to esplorer I get the following error:
The tool works fine when I use the release version of nodeMCU firmware.
Does anyone know what the problem may is?
