Regarding the 2FA on hoyoverse.com, is this something that a user is required to enter at every login, just at some logins, or just to perform certain actions?

sorry for late reply. but it is required for first time in-game login. and, everytime you want to change account settings.
That sounds more like authorization than authentication.
