Capture HeatherB's presentation to 18F about details/acting roles in the Handbook

The 18F Team Coffee on August 4 included a presentation by @hbillings about acting roles and details. There is a ton of really valuable information in there that could help people be prepared for and successful in their details.

@MelissaBraxton @alexbielen Looking at where in the TTS Handbook this info might live, this page is the natural fit. But it would require a fair amount of revising as the current page repeats some information, as well as offers some different info.

My main point is this ticket can be tackled in two ways, depending on whether the imagined audience for the general content is 18F or TTS more widely. If it's the former, we can probably get away with some tweaks to the existing page and a link to Heather's presentation (if that's okay. I don't know the approach re: sharing documents like this, though I know we err to openness—and TC is open to all). If we want to reuse the content to serve a larger audience, the whole page needs a rewrite to organize it better and make it more useful.

Let me know what you think is appropriate right now and I can create a draft to attach to this ticket by end of day Friday, I think.

  • Acting vs Detail
  • What's in Heather's slides missing in the Guide
  • Handbook --copy--repro--change--reviewer--check--in

Read both Heather's slide and the TTS detail guide couple of times, I need some context and advice from @mgwalker. Scheduled a meeting with him on 9/6.

@alexbielen and I discussed a first step here:

  • translate the info in Heather's deck into a document summarizing considerations re: acting roles that could later be included in our internal leadership handbooks, rather than the public facing TTS handbook.

I talked to @mgwalker the week before and I concluded the facts listed in heather's G slides are from the TTS handbook, and we shall not include the personal opinions to the handbook. @MelissaBraxton @alexbielen .

I recommend to close this ticket and create another one for " re: acting roles that could later be included in our internal leadership handbooks, rather than the public facing TTS handbook"

The link to the TTS guidebook is here

Sounds good, @donnykwan! Go ahead and create that new issue in the TLC repo, and we can go from there. Once we have that new issue, link to it here, and we can close this out.

Closing this as the next step will continue in #3713.

Hey @donnykwan - Looks like the new issue is in the handbook repo. Was that your intent? It was my understanding that we were closing the handbook issue because we want to capture the info in internal facing docs--not the handbook.

I dont think we can transfer it. You will need to close out the handbook issues and make a new issue in the TLC repo.

Created a new issue under TLC repo #449.
